in rpn mode, it is only possible to input two complex numbers on the stack, and the calculator does not keep track of the fact you've entered complex numbers.

i was a texas instruments user prior to owning this calculator, so the hp verision of inputing both numbers and then the operator is a little tough at first, but you get the hang of it easily.
