i use this calculator consistently for unit conversions and algebraic calculations and it's faster than the 32sii i used for the last 12 years
to discover that there were no longer any hp scientific models in this form factor (10c, 11c), only the 12c which unfortunately is a business calculator or other unacceptable algebraic units.

it may not have the heft of the older units like the 42s, but heavier is not always better.
this unit lives up to what you expect from a quality hp unit.
all things considered i like this unit a lot and even considering the extra cost i am glad i bought it.
if not, this unit is great.
as near as i can tell there are three differences between the two units:
(the unit can be hooked up directly to a pc with a usb cable and the software for that kind of configuration seemed more robust and user friendly.) maybe i'll purchase a separate software package for
pros: 1) simple and quite fast equation operating system (not with hp rpn, but not bad for the money since they are now on sale for $63.99 compared with $59.99 for the new hp 35s for example which is
1) it is simple, fairly light and quite fast (75 mhz clock speed), algebraic equation operating system (eos), but not with hp rpn, but not bad for the money since the hp 39gs units are now on sale
when it states calendar & clock function the average person would believe that when your unit is off (not a calculator) that the time or time calendar would show on the display.
pros: nice functional unit at a nice price cons: a little larger on the desk than i thought.
the compound miter key has already saved me hours of fussing on oddball scenic units.
this desk unit has all the same features, allowing me to enter dimensions in feet, inches, meters, etc.
once you reach the ideal cooking temperature (buy a good quality thermometer, the one with the unit is terribly inaccurate) you can almost "set it and forget it".
this unit did not come with instructions.
i first had the hp50g but i changed it for the classpad because it saves me much more time in the exams than the other, the only thing i don't like about the classpad is the lack of an unit converter
texas instruments a thorn in the side of progress has used its ready availability to take market control in the united states.
the lcd diplay on these units (i have purchased two, now, with the identical problem) is so bad that the units are essentially unusable.
i have also compared this unit against similar new casio scientific models and found the sharp to be overall a better bargain and a more useful purchase.
this unit is a tremendous scientific calculator at a modest price.
the large glass panel covering the display (and the top 1/3rd of the unit) is highly reflective and makes the display hard to read under flourescents.
