this is the best scientific calculator i have ever used, and i own calculators by casio, sharp, ti, and hp.
-no thousand comma separator, this is a major complain i have as i had to count zeros once in a while and my eyes get tired of doing that and it's a waste of time.
the text is not as sharply displayed as ti-30 series (which is less expensive than the casio calculator).
there's no "x" key--you have to hit [alpha] [x], yet there are keys for "m+", "^2", "^-1", and two very similar "log" keys; this is extremely annoying, as i use "x" all the time.

i have tried to use the cas features of high end calculators: ti 89, casio fx 2.0 to solve real algebra problems in my work as a software engineer, but was always frustrated by the difficulty of

when it states calendar & clock function the average person would believe that when your unit is off (not a calculator) that the time or time calendar would show on the display.

i have found this product is useful for not only my job, but my home needs as well.the construction master 5’s cubic entry conversion feature has saved time and concrete.
the timer feature is handy if you want to leave the immediate area where you can hear your primary timer: just slip the kitchen calculator in your pocket and go to the basement, do yard work, etc.
even if you are a small time cook the options on this calculator are great.
no need to have timers on this.

i figured i could replace it with a cheap rpn calculator form ti or casio, but was shocked that as far as i can tell, only hp makes rpn calculators.
anyway, after getting use to operatiions on this calculator it is awesome and i won't be switching back to to my ti83+ for a while.
cons: this amazingly tiny decimal point.
i can use it ok but have to be very careful and have to recheck my numbers several times because it either get stuck or have to press it really hard.
the faceplate is brushed metal and the case is nicely finished with tight seams.

it is true the protective cover is a tight fit, and interferes with the keypad, but who cares?
definitely a plus to have in the kitchen, as well as having extra timers on hand for cooking more than one thing at a time!

it has many useful features and can save a lot of time that would be spent flipping through the code book.
i havent used this even for power factor, which is more difficult to calculate than on my $12 texas instruments ti30x calculator...cosine angle theta = pf 4 keystrokes on my ti
i have not taken the time yet to sit down with the code to check the accuracy of the results but assuming that the algorithms are accurate this is a great tool to keep around.

the tray is tiny but i'm amazed at how much it holds.
if you want to graph a table, this feature doesn't exist with this calculator like it does with the more expensive ti-83.

time is of an essence - so, i returned the fc200v and because cash refund was not allowed, i purchased a microwave in return.
