having taught math in urban school setting for over 5 years where funding and student buying power is limited, i've recently discovered this calculator as a cheaper alternative.
i recently got this exact calculator as i started up my electronics college course.
just enter the problem in just as you see it on the test or the textbook using the mathprint mode and it just kicks out the answer.
i bought this for my college algebra class, though i am sure i am going to be using it in many more of my classes, since i am a science major.
i have a lot of calculators laying around here, but for simple math i find myself grabbing the ti-30xs more and more often.
this is a wonderful device for us mathematically challenged folks.
recommend it highly.
big, easy-to-use keys hearken back to those giant learning calculators i used in elementary school, which gives a nice sense of nostalgia while using this product.
overall i give the product high marks but i paid below the $350 retail price and at that price other models have to be considered.
based on what i've seen so far i can recommend it for soho use if network scanning or tight vista integration is not going to be a high-priority item for you.
- the display is easy to read at any hight, the brother required you to be about 5-4 to read it and i am 6-2.
great for commercial, high use purposes.
i highly recommend a thermal printer over any other kind-
