This unit is a tremendous scientific calculator at a modest price. Small, light weight, versatile, complete. from Buy.com Pros: Just works. No issue has been found for a year. Cons: None Other Thoughts: I used Sharp EL5100 for more than 20 years without single issue, but its display cracked a year ago. I bought another Sharp and found it was again fantastic in every measure. from Newegg.com I am a practicing Electrical/Electronic Engineer and have had a Sharp EL-506 for eons that still works and is no bigger than 3" X 5" notecard. The EL-506WBBK is bigger but just manages to fit my shirt pocket. from Amazon.com The ability to save formulas to memory is key. Twin power (battery/solar) means never having to worry about batteries, ever. The only thing I miss from my old, old Sharp (the predecessor to this model) is the auto-loading of variables for the formulas. With this guy, you're getting a lot of bang for very few bucks. It might not graph, it might not perform symbolic math, it might not use RPN or have a precision-engineered keypad with double-injection-molded keys -- and above all it's certainly not a computer -- but it's currently the best value out there in utility scientific calculators and nothing else comes close. from Amazon.com
