this calculator does everything that i need it to do as a college student in two hundred and three hundred level math courses.
i bought this calculator as a requirement for a college course, and compared it to the texas instrument calculators that are used by most of my classmates.
i've read elsewhere that a lot of engineers favor it(and hp in general) over ti.

the hp-50g is the all-singing, all-dancing, top of the line calculator for students, engineers, and mathematicians.
this calculator is definately easier to use than the ones at my school.

the hp 39g+ is overall a decent calculator for you basic middle school and high school needs.

my first hp calculator was purchased in 1986 when i was an undergrad in engineering (hp 15c)- rpn took a little to get used to, but it was worth the effort.
the hp-35s can be summed up in one sentence: it is, without question, the best choice of calculator by far for the ncees engineer's and land surveyor's examinations.
now they only have to approve it for the ncees exams and presto you have the most powerful calculator in its class.

the build quality is high and this calculator can perform very fast tvm and amortization and hp solve calculations; it is much faster than the 12c for example.

i've had it for a month and already it has outpaced the ti, which isn't a bad calculator, it just that for the professional/engineer type this hp seems so much better.
the mathematical software is improved and the screen has fantastic contrast (but the resoluton is still less then a ti-89).i've had this calculator for a few weeks and i like it.
