Don't buy the TRENDnet USB to Parallel 1284 Converter for plotters. It doesn't work. from Amazon.com When I bought my new HP Pavillion computer that was running Vista 64, I was worried that my old HP LaserJet 5 printer would not connect anymore. The new computer did not have a parallel port, so I bought this USB to Centronix cable hoping that it would work. Surprisingly, I connected the cable and the OS instantly saw the printer and installed it automatically. from Amazon.com I have a brand new dual core dell. I have a 1990's HP laserjet 4050 printer. I tried EVERYTHING to get these two to connect. It took a lot out of me and i almost gave up and was going to get a modern laserjet with usb. from Amazon.com Pros: Works on my HP 6p laserjet, took 2 minutes to install. Cons: Didn't auto configure. from Newegg.com I have an HP Laserjet 5p and I bought a new Toshiba laptop.
