I tried several other brands (Micro Innovations, CompUSA's house brand, Kingwin, Ultra (plain adapter) and none of them worked properly. They all acted like a key was stuck down. Only this Sabrent, and the IOGEAR worked correctly. The response rate was much better with the IOGEAR but for simple word processing this is a good adapter. from Tigerdirect.com Wherever possible, in order to maintain hot-swapability, I prefer to use USB for keyboard and mouse. Thus the PS2 <> USB adapter. These Sabrent adapters are the only ones that have 'played well' with the variety of different KVMs and USB-capable computers that I have tried. Most other adapters fail somewhere - translation of the Mac keyboard to PC keyboard for the KVM, they lose the scroll wheel, or only work with wintel boxes and not Macs. from Newegg.com These WILL NOT interrupt the post to access the bios setup or alt. boot menu. This problem vanished with the use of on hand Tripp-Lite cables and ultimatly the Trendnet TU-PS2 cables we ordered to replace the Sabrent cables. USB to PC connection, and PS/2 device connection was done while the PC was off. from Amazon.com MY HP Pavillion laptop won't boot with this plugged into any USB port. Once it boots, however, I can use my PS/2 keyboard via this splitter cable. Sabrent has non-existent tech support.
