Cons: Backwards Compatabilty. I have an old version of Adobe Photoshop and with it set as my defualt pic viewer I can't just open a picture, I have to open Adobe and open through it. Easy fix, changed default to microsoft pic viewer...inconvenient. Had to buy some 2007 edition of my peripheral programs. from Newegg.com One kit was 5 discs and had install issues. Other Thoughts: I seem to be opposite of most people having constant problems with xp where they do not. I put this on my gaming machine, dv8000 and d600 laptops and couldnt be happier. Conflicts have gone away as drivers have been released. from Newegg.com Pros: No idea. Cons: I have never seen an OS crash and puke this bad since Windows ME. Constant weird crashes, every time the PC boots up its something different. from Newegg.com Pros: its an operating system Cons: incompatible, Cant run steam/counter strike source (vista thinks its a virus),slower than XP, Other Thoughts: Switched back to XP quicker than 2 shakes of a lions tail from Newegg.com It won't run the program I need it to run. XP ran fine, no problems. Vista locks it up quickly. It won't autostart the three programs I need autostarted either. from Newegg.com Pros: Its Vista Home Basic and comes with a key. Cons: This requires you to install Vista using 5 CDs, not a single DVD. from Newegg.com Pros: fast boot compared to 2k, the "need admin perm." Ive had to cancle twice because some stupid site wanted to download something. Tells you what ver. your game is. VERY NICE. from Newegg.com Cons: Kills the performance of even the fastest system. Average of 20% to 40% less performance depending on your hardware. Memory hog, less features than XP home, and infected with DRM! Other Thoughts: I test high-end hardware every day, and I have seen the impact this OS has on system performance. from Newegg.com Pros: It runs, no crashes or blue screens yet. Seti@home runs fast on it.
