Playable Disk Types
Make sure that the
boom box you choose plays all of the disk types you plan on using. Not
all of them are compatible with CD-R or CD-RW formatted disks. If you like burning
your own compilations, then check for compatibility on any player you want to purchase.
Number of Disks
This will generally range from one to three on most portable boom boxes. If you want to shuffle through a variety of music or play an artist's entire collection without swapping out the disks, choose a boom box that can hold several disks at once.
Playable File Formats
If you want to
cram a lot of your music onto one CD, you can do so by recording it
as data instead of music. If you're a fan of making MP3 CDs, check under the Playable File Formats heading on the machine you buy to make
sure that your boom box supports this format.
