Our 2 year old daughter loved this little kitchen as soon as she saw it after waking up from a nap. She loves to make eggs in the frying pan along with playing with the blender and microwave oven. from Amazon.com There is a small screw in the right burner - lift up that burner, and it takes 3 AA batteries. I think it might have come with the batteries already in it, so it took some looking (and a lot of unscrewing) to find them. All the kids like using this kitchen, and it can help keep them out of our hair when we are cooking. My son still occasionally plays with this but not for long. from Amazon.com The only thing I have found wrong with it is my daughter can stick the whole cookies in her mouth, I don't think there is any danger of her swallowing them they are too big, but I don't like her having them in her mouth. So I take them away if she does it and then give them back in a day or two. If you child likes to play in the kitchen, this is a great toy, this has kept my daughter occupied long enough for me to get supper cooking plus since I have the toy kitchen right in the kitchen with me while I'm cooking I can keep an eye on her. from Amazon.com
