the armband inflates with just a touch of a finger.

it's not pocket sized by any means, but it is much smaller than the standard cuff-bp machine (btw, if anyone is curios, my doctor said to only use the cuffs for accurate bp readings - wrists or

just point the large arrow on the cuff toward your middle finger on the inside of your arm and press start.

but, fortunately, the beep isn't really necessary because positioning is easy for everyone--fingertips on your shoulder.

i purchased this to replace a worn out omron finger type unit.

when i put mine on, i touch my right should with my fingertips and the heart rate monitor starts right up.

though the cuff itself is a bit stiff, it's simple enough to follow along and get everything properly aligned so that the blue line on the cuff aligns to the middle finger on the left hand.

btw, don't even think about getting a finger or wrist cuff.

says you have to be sitting at all times and must have everything perfect (cuff, hose, fingers, not talk, feet flat, etc) for it to work....and even then the chance of getting a error message or

my doctor had great reservations regarding my previous monitor that took its reading from your finger.

putting on the cuff is simple as it is already arm shaped and getting it in the right spot (1" above elbow with blue stripe lined up with middle finger) is a cinch.

there's a blue line on the cuff that is supposed to line-up with an imaginary line to your middle finger.

i have to hold the cuff with my finger while it inflates or it stops and says the cuff is to loose.
