10/30/2009 from Amazon.com After almost a year, the monitor started throwing error codes and would pump and release the cuff and pump again. Suspecting the cuff was the problem, I switched to the regular cuff, which barely fits my arm, and the unit has not failed again. Apparently, over the last year I lost enough weight to make the XL cuff too big for accurate readings. Fortunately, extra cuffs are not expensive and it's easy to switch from one to another. from Amazon.com First I bought the Omron model with the regular cuff and that cuff was too small, kept getting error messages, bought this Lifesource one and the cuff was too big, kept getting error messages, so I finally bought a wrist model (omron) and has been working great, tested the wrist model at the doctors office and even though no two readings would ever be exactly the same, according to the doctor, he was confident that the readings were well within the range of accuracy. from Amazon.com LifeSource Blood Pressure Monitor with AccuFit Extra Large Cuff from Amazon.com Need to get a BP monitor and as a weightlifter I have the same issues with IPOD bands..they are too small. the importance of proper band size became apparent to me after an internet search on home BP monitoring. the # 1 BP monitor has no extra large bands (in the consumer product--go professional and pay over 900$$$ for it--yah right!), this led me to this brand (Lifesource)and I am very happy with the functionality the ability to have different size bands and works as advertised! from Amazon.com The LifeSource UA-789 Blood Pressure Monitor was purchased to replace an aging household monitor. However, I did use both just to compare the readings. from Amazon.com I was pleased to find an extra large cuff, but this was too big for a guy with an 18" arm! Very generous sizing- you may want to opt for the model with the large cuff which is cheaper. from Amazon.com I bought this product after a good amount of research among leading manufacturers of home blood pressure monitors including Omron and Microlife. I also currently own an Omrom and wasn't particularly impressed with the accuracy of the readings.
