As a first-year BSN student, I see many of my classmates using this stethoscope. Two possible reasons for this are that the price is nice and the bookstore only carries Littmanns :). from Amazon.com I am taking a basic nurse's assistant class in order to become certified as a CNA and this stethoscope works incredibly well for me, it's lightweight and the sound quality is amazing. from Amazon.com I'm a nursing student and it's my first time to have a Littman stethoscope and I was amazed at how really light this product is.
