when you start the blender, the blades start slowly and come up to speed without throwing your smoothy all over the kitchen.
i was very pleased with the fact that it is very quiet and eases into speeds.
a long time krups customer, i purchased this blender after 10 years of suffering with a lack luster, non krups blender, which was given to me as a wedding present.
the speeds are well chosen (a pulse option and an ice option, plus 4 speeds, not counting "slow.").
there is some smell when operating at a high speed, hopefully just breaking in - the smell is rapidly becoming less intense.
i love this blenderi purchased this hand blender for myself for making soups and quick blending.
i hate dragging my large mixer out all the time.this is my first hand mixer and i love it.
i use it at least 4 times a week.
from deploying it to cleanup, this is a fast and easy product.
i have wanted this product for a long time, but thought it would be just another "gadget".
it blends frozen fruit into a puree quickly and it washes up easily in the dishwasher.
we use our blender about 3-4 times/day, so i hope this one holds out!
it quickly blended up my sauce.
the convenient controls include useful low and high speed pulse buttons.
the blade holder (quite sharp!) twist off so you can clean its nooks and crannies.as mentioned by another reviewer, the glass container is not stable off its base so we just keep in on all the time.
i hope it last the test of time.
start on low and then "rev" it up to high speed as the instructions indicate.
i bought it because i hate the odd chunky bits of fruit in my smoothies, i hate taking blenders apart for cleaning and i wanted something i could depend on to do what i wanted each and every time.
we first noticed this mighty machine being used in a major coffee chain, then in fast food places, and finally at most restaurant bars.
in this time they change image and detail for this item, and now is only blender.
we make protein smoothies every day, and this blends all the ingredients and crushes the ice on 1/4 of the time of my old blender.
i haven't tried anything else on this blender, but i thought i come back to write a review after using this 100 times.
i don't usually need to run it on more than the low speed.
i used this to blend smoothies about 4-5 times per week.
in general, all vegetables and fruits get drawn into the vortex created by the blades, and it saves a lot of time for me as i do not have to feed the blender little by little.
i have been disassembling the blender and cleaning and drying it each time.
first, let me back up a little, i lived in a townhouse and my neighbor has one powerful blender vita-mix 5000 but it is so loud that i could hear it every time he used it.
we don't use a blender a whole lot, and in the first 2 years of owning this blender we used it maybe 15 times i'm guessing, and never for prolonged periods, and not to chop ice that i remember.
my 20+ year old blender finally died so it was time to get a new one.
this blender is amazing...i can put my fruit yogurt ice cream ice and juice all in at one time and fill to the top and i can press the smoothie button and walk away and come back to ...smoothie....it
the first time to make shakes which it took less then 10 seconds to blend with 4 scoops of ice cream.
i use for my breakfast and snacks and make my drink as well.
i've found this blender to be awesome, the only things that bother a near perfect experience are the limited run time ( for apple sauce i need to restart it four times ), it'd save some back and
my wife wanted to buy a professional blender like the smoothie and coffee shops have, however the costs involved quickly dispelled any thought of obtaining one.
this blender has torque sensors on the motor and will adjust the speed and time based on consistency to provide a perfect smoothie every time.
breville 800blxl die-cast hemisphere 2-speed blender is so awesome!
about two weeks now, but it has gotten a lot of use in that time.
i recently picked this blender up when my old blender, a kitchenaid ksb560ob 5-speed ultra power series blender that was about 3 years old died.
that's all i bought this for but now i use it all the time for soups and making drinks at parties, etc.
i've put this immersion hand blender to the test with several soups and it has performed beautifully each time.
i like the working quality of this blender - it cuts fast and turns food into smooth pure.
because it grinds all that into a smooth, chocolatey heaven 2-3 times per day for me without fail.
for the first time i got to enjoy a smooth frosty shake without having to chew it.
in no time at all i had a nice smooth consistency for the smoothies and the soups took only a few minutes.
it's quieter than my old blender and quickly blends whatever you need it to.
a couple of times i have had to find out the hard way that it wasnt properly fastened.
it's powerful and works extremely fast.
from smoothies to shakes we are having fun..don't hesitate to get yourself one if the time arises.
review: i had been researching for a stick blender for some time, when i saw alton brown use one on good eats on the food network, he highly recommended it, but never mentioned it by name.
i purchased a braun 5-speed, but it ...
pros: quick and easy use and even quicker clean up.
works great, choppes froze fruit quickly, spout not good for smoothies, but overall great product for the price..
the price and shipping speed was great too!
this blender is awesome and wow can it put out the speed!!!
quick delivery in plain box to help keep christmas surprise she hasn't used it yet, but it looks like a very handy gaget
it grabs and churns the mixture quickly.
it has toggle speed and on/off switches that are easy even for wet fingers to operate.
pros: easy clean up, very durable, crushed ice beautifully, quick
time will tell if it is as durable as advertised.
put the blender on low speed for the smoothie to pour out of the spout and you can make swirls in desert dish or a glass with a big straw!
it is easy to clean, quick, and the pour spout on the smoothie is fabulous.
it purees ice for perfect smoothies (which we make several times per week), and it disassembles easily for dishwashing.
i made mango smoothie and it came out perfect(remember that you have to start from slow to med and finally fast) also i made chopped onions and cilantro and i was very satisfied with the results the
i bought the back to basics 4 speed 3 in one blender a few weeks ago.
it is way better than my old vitamix blender because it does not heat up as fast and can fit under my cupboard.
i've never written a review before, so you know that i must really like this product to take the time to do so.
it's really easy and fast to clean and is very durable and powerful.
but not only do i use it but the kids use it at least two or three times a day for smoothies or shakes.
i used my friends quite a few times and they are great, but frankly they are one of the ugliest blenders you will ever see, looking like a reject from the 80s.
i must say i'm extremely impressed with it's capacity and ability to control the exact texture of the liquid based on a combination of speed and pulse.
the new one has a larger container (which pours more easily than the old) and crushes ice much more quickly & more efficiently than the old one.
your website once again came through, the price is great and shipping was really fast.
i used it all the time for every facet of my cooking and entertainting experiences.
thank you amazon for the great price and speedy delivery!
plus, i ordered this through amazon.com and it was delivered on time, maybe even earlier than estimated.
may be i should give it more time!
the only problem i have had is to get the blending started without pulsing numerous times if using frozen fruits.
i was a frist time shopper at amazon, but i surely use them again.
other blenders, offering the same features, or nearly so, are 3 times the cost.i use it to make smooties, with and without ice, to puree a sauce (fig sauce for roast pork) and it works very well.
i was able to figure it out with common sense and not even reading the directions the first time i put it together.
i've used it several times now and have not had any problems.
i dont know what everyone is complaining about, this is the best dang thing i've purchased in a long time!
this has happened every time i have ordered from amazon directly in the last two years.
i tried to make smoothies several times with this machine, and each time it would leave pieces (or chunks i should say) and blocks of ice in the smoothie.
