i have used it quite a few times since we received it and the blender performs well for most tasks.
i was about to buy a high speed glass container blender at kohl's that would have not even come close to this blender.
my main reason for purchasing the hamilton beach 52277 12 speed classic chrome blender was to make smoothies with frozen fruit on occasion.
it quickly makes frozen slushy drinks thick as you please with a perfect fine, slushy texture, no larger ice bits at all.
it blends at 12 different speeds and i hardly use the "high" speeds.
this blender is so powerful and i am sure it will last a long time.
but this guy (okay, it's very masculine looking), can do the job quick and make enough in the mega-sized 64 oz.
quick (does its business very quickly)
(if you add ice cubes one or two at a time to the container with liquid already in blending on high, you will have the smoothest frozen beverage you have ever had with no leftover ice chunks.)
if you are looking for a quiet motor then you will be trading power to do things fast.
best of all, it has the only speeds you'll ever need: off, pulse, low, and high.
my only complaint is i wish it had more speeds, but all in all, it is a winner.
it works fast and not too loud.
shipped quick, over night it seemed.
there is the hi/lo speeds and a pulse.
there is a variable speed dial that is somewhat superfluous but that is the only minor flaw i have noticed so far.
at a time when most manufacturers of kitchenwares are moving production to mexico or asia, vitamix continues to produce a sturdy, high-quality american product for the american market.
the braun that won is a pos, the only reason it won was it had a very good sharp blade that dulls quickly, in the long run it will not last and its over 50 bucks everywhere i looked.
is no struggling, no stray pieces of ice or fruit, and no fear that it's going to burn out like my other blenders did from the strain of trying to blend ice and frozen fruit over a period of time.
we've had exactly one problem - the variable speed dial got really difficult to turn.
my pesto took no time to blend perfectly.
this blender not only does the job, it is very fast and efficient.
i will definitely keep you updated as time goes by and i get to try it out on soups and milkshakes, mousses and dips!
it chops up anything i throw in it incredibly quickly.
i didn't think i would like the on/off option instead of the supposed variable speeds of other blenders but i really love this blender.
it crushes ice quickly and easily and makes great smoothies!
i do have a couple of negative comments - the unit is a little bit louder than the waring and tends to cavitate on high speed.
i had a kitchenaid 5 speed blender before this one and it was much quiter.
i like the two speeds (who actually uses all 12 of the speeds offered by other blenders?!?), with the pulse being a somewhat slower and more "grinding" blend and the sustained speed being a high
although it blends great you can only blend so much at a time.
it took a few times to get use to it, like it takes most a few times to learn the few quirks of a new product.
this product makes it quick and easy to stay within the guidlines of my diet.
smoothies turn out very nice; if it's a thick one, you need to shake the container, but it's still faster and more convenient than using the blender.
yes age: 45 - 54 gender: male has owned product for: longer than one year uses product: a few times per month share this review:
this was thee best thing i have purchased in a long time---great shakes great smoothies great drinks great app!!!!!!!must have product attributes: value:
the first time i used this blender i was very pleased by the way it crushed the ice and mixed the ingredients.
i love the dispensing button...the blender spins slowly as the drink comes out at a nice speed from the spout!
i have to keep pressing different speed buttons to get it to mixed up smoothies.
it chops ice very quickly and does not leave chunks.
mine does have a separate container that insulates so that is good for makine smoothies since my old one if you didn't dispense it all and drink then it got warm quickly.
this product pays for itself very quickly if you're someone who is used to buying meals on the go.
it makes quick work of all my drinks & sauces, and is extremely easy to use & clean.
i have made soup in it and purred apples in it for fruit roll ups, easy clean up and fast.
while you'd still get the easy cleanup, power and reliability of the vita-mix, that knob (which is on this model) is something i really value because it allows you to change the speed by infinite
hope the blender will last me a life time!
it's loud and spins very fast.
you can not carry on a conversation when blending, however, it is fast.
i decided it was time for a top-of-the-line kitchenaid.
blends frozen or fresh fruit amazingly quickly and completely.
surprisingly powerful, this blender made quick work of butternut squash soup.
easy to hold, has an adjustable speed control and turbo button to control pulsing.
it quickly purees fairly thick soups (gallon-sized quantities in a large stock pot) with no stalling or overheating.
the dualit 88860 500-watt hand blender has the power ot make quick work of the soups and sauces we prepare in our church kitchen for the friday vegetarian meal served to the homeless and those in
variable speed from 9000 rpm to 17000 rpm (turbo button) allows you to blend, puree, and froth within seconds.
this will be my second time buying this blender, it is loud, but if you want a great blender this is it!!!!!
two speeds might not suffice for some. the bottom line: so far, i'm having a lot of time osterizing with our new blender!
pros: versatile, convenient, fast, and easy to clean.
it crushes ice quickly and easily.
only downside to processor is that it cannot hold more than one cup at a time, but that's fine for pesto, hummus, toppings, etc.
at a time but i like it.
i use this at least 3 times a week for a couple of months now & it has not burned up yet.
adequate for a first timer.
we have used it several times and made both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks with it.
shaves ice very quickly and not a loud as i thought it might be.
its' also fun to use and my kids and guests all have a really good time playing around with it.
other than that, i am very happy with the great drinks it makes, it takes a few times to master how much mix and ice go it for perfection as no one is going to measure everything out when your having
the instructions were straightforward and in no time the step-by-step instructions had the machine ready to produce some delicious frozen beverages.
i received this blender as a gift and use it all the time to make frozen drinks.
i was going to do all the research but saw this blender in wal-mart and just liked how it looked and really liked the price, around $18 at the time.
this is the first time i use a blender on a regular basis.
the real test lies in crushing large frozen strawberries - they are more difficult than ice to crush and this blender chops them up quickly.
i have used this 5+ times to make fruit/ice cream smoothies and it blended all fresh uncut fruit easily.
but considering how fast it does it's job, you don't have to listen to it for long.
it blends so quick, i couldn't believe it the first time i used it.
and it's so easy to clean....you don't have to disassemble the nozzle every time...it's sufficient to just run hot soapy water through the machine and let it run through the nozzle.
if you're a perfect person who will never drop the jar, i'd recommend this blender, but my family switched to the kitchenaid ksb560mc 5-speed blender which costs less, works just as well, and has an
this cuts my time in half and it makes more smoothies at one time.
it's a great product; well made and really does the job quickly
i used it for the first time and it blended at top speed everything inside, i recommend this to everyone.
it only has a couple of speeds, but that's basically all one needs for most jobs...and it does do a nice job and cleans up easy.
only reason i did not give this item 5 stars is because it does not crush the ice as quick as i expected.
the blender takes full size ice cubes and makes them into a frothy drink in no time.
we got this blender for our smoothies, but then we used our oster 14 speed blender with all metal gearing and this thing paled in comparison.
called back to basics customer support and they quickly shipped out a replacement!
i've had the blender for about one month now and have used it approximately 12 times.
turn the blender on low, and be prepared for the smoothie to flow from the spout with amazing speed, so have your glass ready before you engage the spout!!
this was my first blender in a long time, and i was replacing a 15+ year old major brand blender with what i expected to be a pretty inexpensive model.
i was very pleased with the fact that it is very quiet and eases into speeds.
when you start the blender, the blades start slowly and come up to speed without throwing your smoothy all over the kitchen.
it was very quiet on the slowest setting, ice blended perfectly as did forzen fruit.
you must start at a low speed and work up to a high speed and it will blend your smoothies to perfection.
much to my delight, this is exactly what i was hoping for...a (relatively) quiet blender, with enough power to blend a fruit enhanced protein shake without shutting down 2 or 3 times in the process.
i make smoothies all the time with this blender and it works like a charm, mixes up the ice completely.....no ice chunks left!
it could have more speeds, but it's not really necessary.
it crushes ice effortlessly and quickly and leaves a smooth consistency which will be great when making smoothies and such.
bonuses: affordable price, large capacity, glass jar, a million speeds, and easy to clean.
after placing all the ingredients into the jar and varying between pressing the ice breaker, smoothie and icy drink buttons a few times, the wave action kicks in and boom!
