the only downside that some have mentioned already is that the blender sometimes will spin so fast that it leaves a small pocket of air and doesn't suck product down as fast.

it's loud, but because it's so effective, you will probably have it turned on for less than half the time of another blender - i make my standard smoothie in 6 (!) seconds.
