What’s the secret to making a perfect margarita at home? It’s all in the blender. For just the right consistency, without unsightly chunks of ice, you need a solid blender that can get the job done. Cheap blenders just won’t cut it.
When looking for a blender for margaritas, keep an eye out for a sturdy glass pitcher and a powerful blender base. High wattage is key: your blender needs enough power to pulverize the ice into the smooth consistency you need. Variable speeds can be useful, but are not always necessary if the blender has enough power.
There are now “margarita blenders” on the market intended just for margaritas. They can be very effective, but do not necessarily have an advantage over multipurpose blenders. But if you have a mania for margaritas, a targeted margarita machine could be what you need. Most people prefer a multipurpose blender, and there are plenty on the market that can make a mean margarita and also fill your other blending needs.
