i truly haven't noticed that this blender is overly loud, but i do have a kitchen towel under it (makes it easier to slide on the counter), so maybe that has helped muffle the noise.

i don't think the noise of this blender is any worse than my old cuisinart, and its blue lighted display looks nice on the counter near my keurig coffee maker.
