i was about to buy a high speed glass container blender at kohl's that would have not even come close to this blender.
it's good but it's noisy and the glass container is heavy.
nice large sturdy glass bowl.
the glass jar is really nice too.
i also like the glass jar (as my oster had) for being able to blend hot soups.
the metal drive which is a part of the glass jar sit on top of it, that little piece broke from the base.
on top of that, the glass from another osterizer i had was able to fit this base as well (it is a smaller size glass) so that was an accidental bonus.
the jar is a sturdy glass, and buttons are soft and recessed, making it easy to clean the front of the blender with a sponge or towel.
i do wish it was glass like the blender container is so that's why i give it 4 stars instead of 5.
the only down side is it is a little difficult to get the glass blender part to fit into the unit.
but seriously, the durability of the glass is impeccable!
it has a pearlized (metallic/glittery) pearl finish with real stainless, plus heavy duty lime green plastic/rubber, and a heavy glass blender bowl.
the next time i tried to talk everyone into just one type of drink, that way i could make 3 drinks each time and pour them out into everyone's glass since it was the same.
load the ice on top put your booze and mizer in the glass blender hit the switch...
this thing makes it by the glass or by the pitcher.
i ordered a waring blender last week, when i washed it the seal on the glass jar leaked.
the handsomely elegant glass-on-black oster blender crushes ice with ease and doesn't shake, as some less sturdy contenders do.
the glass container is a bit heavy, but it's very sturdy.
at first i thought i wouldn't like the glass pitcher but it actually works as a great insulator and keeps my smoothies smooth with minimal melting.
one problem that i have encountered was that i unscrewed the blades from the glass to clean and it now leaks when i make smoothies (leaks from the bottom of the jar).
also, the plastic cup makes cleaning up the coffee residue a bit more difficult than a steel or glass pitcher.
just like rinsing out a glass.
i wanted a small blender, i hated lugging out and then cleaning the big glass one to make a simple shake.
the jar itself can be used as a serving glass.
the jar is shaped like a drinking glass, and is very comfortable to drink from.
i use it to blend vegitables and juice mainly but i think it would blend ball bearings if the glass wouldn't break.
the pros: it makes great smoothies, is simple w/ 2 settings, has a glass beehive container which i prefer to plastic, and is easily to clean as it is dishwasher safe.
this blender is very well constructed: all metal motor, thick rubber feet, thick glass container.
i purchased this personal blender to use at work for mid-morning or afternoon health smoothies..wroks just right and the convenience of having the blender work as a glass makes it even more
the jar can even be used as a drinking vessel even though it doesn't look as refined as a glass.
i really like that the blender container also serves as the glass to drink out of.
it easily crushes through ice cubes and frozen fruit and i'm able to make enough shake for my husband and i to have a large glass each.
that way i don't have to get another glass dirty.
so, we upgraded to the back to basics smoothie professional, which was great until i dropped the glass jar into the sink and broke it, only to find that you couldn't buy a new one anywhere so my $120
this kitchenaid is the best blender i have ever owned, and i absolutely love the polycarbonate jar instead of glass (someone in my family always manages to break it) which is why this is about my
i also like the fact that the jar is plastic rather than glass, it makes it much easier to handle.
we originally had the previous model of this blender with a glass jar.
the blender does an excellent job when using the ice crush feathure to make margaritas by the glass or by the picture.
the polycarbonate jar won't break like glass, but it's clear so you can see what's going on, unlike stainless steel.
there always used to be option of either drinking a glass of banana and ice chunks, or opting to blend longer and getting a gallon of foam.
cons: still a little expensive, polycarbonate jar (prefer glass but that would make blender heavy).
i started to buy something less expensive with a glass jar, but, after reading the ratings, and remembering that we had some in our class, i decided to give it a try, and i am very pleased.
this up-and-over action blends everything so that nothing is missed or shows up without being blended when pouring into your glass.
in addition to this if you want to get the conent poured in glass then there is stopper jack which helps you to get the content out of blender without removing it.
if i drop it on my kitchen floor,i'm sure it will break, but so would glass.
my guests are delighted when we use this machine and refill their glasses frequently (i cannot tell if it's my drink recipes or they just like to use the dispenser).
his regular blender often left ice chunks that clogged the straw and remained in the bottom of the glass once the drink was finished.
some reviewers seemed upset that you have to press the 'dispense' button to dispense the smoothie into a glass, but that's what the manual says to do, and i don't have a problem with it.
the glass decanter contains markings on the outside to show you how much ice, liquid, and fruit to put in the blender, so you'll never have to guess, although i usually don't follow their
the jar is glass, so it shattered.
the one slight problem i've experienced is with the seal between the lid and the glass jar.
i like the glass container and heavy duty professional design.
plenty of power to create the ultimate smoothie, and a glass container large enough to serve several people without having to make a second batch.
i am not sure about having a glass container, as i have been known to break things, but, so far so good!
i especially like the large size glass jar.
cons: heavy glass jar can break
the blending cups then turn into cups - much better then having to try to shake any drink from a large blender glass to a little glass (maybe not the pretties option, but definately functional).
it is so easy to use and really makes me and my family eat more fruit because making smoothies is the simpliest thing in the world--with the same clean-up as washing a glass!
then i can throw the glass part in the dishwasher, and i am out the door.
it's so much easier than using the big glass pitcher with the older blenders.
between my girlfriend and myself someone would just leave the big blender in the sink for someone else to wash, (normally myself) the bullett comes with six or more glasses, use one and toss in the
for the price it should....especially since it doesn't have a glass contiainer.
it did a fairly good job of mixing, but the glass jar was heavy, and all it took was one accidental tap on the sink while washing the slippery thing to crack the thin glass screw mounting on the
it should be plastic or metal and not glass.
the current model still has the powerful motor, heavy glass container, super-duper cord and top-quality switch that my grandmother's had, sixty-odd years ago.
just very functional.i originally really wanted a glass container.
there are no little ice nuggets at the bottom of his glass.
turn the blender on low, and be prepared for the smoothie to flow from the spout with amazing speed, so have your glass ready before you engage the spout!!
the blender is heavy, of good quality (metal housing on the base, large glass pitcher with a wide mouth), and a lot quieter than my previous model.
its made of sturdy glass and the blades make quick work of the frozen items and ice cubes we use in our smoothies.
since it is shaving ice based on an expected quantity of liquid, i have a mixing glass marked for the various drinks and quantities so that i can easily play with different formulas and always have
the glass-blending jar has a unique retro look that lends itself to easy stability when in use with a large glass handle and drip free spout.
inside the box, there was the fcm, a shot glass (to measure portions i guess), an aluminum tin that is used for salting glass rims, 4 cardboard coasters and an instruction manual.
it has a spout, but the glass is thick(quality), and that leads to dripping down the side when pouring.
the top is heavy glass and the blender goes through frozen fruit and ice to makes a smoothie in seconds on low.
bonuses: affordable price, large capacity, glass jar, a million speeds, and easy to clean.
two of the primary selection factors were the fact it was not an oster and the wide-based glass pitcher.
it is also well thought out in that its pitcher (glass) has a wide base, making it useful to serve from.
if you can't find this particluar model, hamilton beach has a wave station blender that is pretty much the same thing but i think the pitcher is plastic instead of glass.
i also like the fact the base is heavy cast metal, the pitcher is thick, solid glass with a tight fitting lid and the blade is stainless.
i had to face it that i wasn't making my protein shakes because it was way too messy having to clean up both the large mixing bowl on my blender and the smoothie glass everytime i wanted a quick fix.
i wanted to make a small milk shake without the hassle of pulling out and cleaning the large glass jar of my blender.
i chose this blender because it was the only brand i found that could be adapted for use with glass mason jars (i don't like plastic), with the additional purchase of an adapter ring.
but i had just shattered the glass jar of my old blender and i wanted something lighter and, ideally, plastic.
the glasses are super hard plastic and can take a beating.
yes, it is heavy, as others have stated, but that is due to it being glass and having such a large capacity.
the glass container is sturdy and slightly heavy with measuring markers engraved in the glass.
and i like the glass container because no stains or odors remain.....very easy cleanup.
the plastic bottom broke, that is the part that attaches to the glass jar that turns the blade.
