I did my research and this blender was rated the highest in several reviews - it has lived up to its reputation. In addition, the size of the jar makes it very easy to clean, easy to store in refrigerator, and easy to place in my half-drawer dishwasher. from Amazon.com When my old Hamilton Beach cheap blender started to show its age I knew it was time to look for a new one. I have enough engineering background to know that a 0.2 to 0.5 Hp motor is NOT going to crush ice. Finally, we found the KitchenAid models!
