Need the right blender for serving up some crushed-ice beverages? Don't worry, we'll point you in the right direction so that those summertime margaritas come out just right! Look for the following features in a blender and get crushing!
Blender Type
For ice crushing you'll need a counter-top model with a glass jar on a sturdy base. Hand held units don't have large enough blades or enough power for crushing ice to a nice consistency.
Jar Size
The bigger the better, with at least 18oz of space to fit ice cubes for crushing. Anything smaller and you'll have a hard time getting much ice crushed at once. Also, the blades are often much smaller on models with small jars, and small blades won't crush your ice effectively.
Pulse Feature
Pulse features allow you to shake up the chunks of ice that can get stuck out of reach by the constant whirring of the blades. They also help to break up the ice when you start, helping to make a finer blend of crushed ice, ideal for summer drinks.
