I was sharing them throughout the whole performance, and I did not have any problem at all with the focus; they were in focus all the time. I did not know much about binoculars, so I did some research online before buying. I found out Bushnell was a very reliable brand, and the price of these on Amazon is just great ($19.99 while I am writing this review). I wear glasses, so I have to take them off to use them properly; but that is just fine with me. from Amazon.com A gift for my 10-year old birdwatching granddaughter. She was delighted. I would have preferred a lower magnification; 12x is too much for extended viewing, and 6x or 8x more generally usable. Those that gave these binocs a good review, try a similarly-priced pair of lower-magnification binocs, notice the sharper and steadier views, easier focusing, and see if you go back to these. If you need a very inexpensive, very compact binocular that is at least decent/useable, try out the 8x21s of similar design under various brand names; they are better in just about every practical respect, and cost less. from Amazon.com First, I wished I had checked the reviews before purchasing! I have owned other Bushnell Binoculars, but these are by far the worst I have used.
