my wife ordered the carrier and shipped it off to her daughter who is using it for her newborn baby.
my wife and i tried a carrier that could be worn on the front or back but there were so many straps it's hard to get into and out of and get your child into.
my wife carried our daughter on a 6 mile hike when she was 5 months old and at the end she did find it very uncomfortable, but that is not what this carrier is all about.
when i first used this thing, my wife had to show me because it seemed complicated but as you use it, i slowly got into it and it really is a great thing to free up your hands with a young one!
i only wish my wife would use it more as it would allow her to be more mobile.
my wife and i both use it constantly with our infant son...keeps him close to our body.
seemed a bit large on "length" for my wife who is a small person but works even better because she can wrap it around herself, "more times", for more support.
my wife loves it, my newborn is comfy, they're happy so i'm happy.
me and my wife bought the moby and it was great.
my wife and i really enjoy this wrap.
as a father, i especially love it because it gives me a chance to spend time with my boy and give my wife a break (or a chance to nap).
it still, however, was not painful or uncomfortable for me (170 lbs & 5'9") or my wife - (100# & 4'11) on extened trips to the zoo, park, etc.
my wife likes better the active.
i've been using the baby bjorn active for 2 months now and while it fits my wife okay (she's 5'1") i have found it impossible to adjust it so that it fits comfortably.
we received this as a shower gift since i had coerced my wife into putting it on the list.
my wife is smaller and far more critical of the ergonomics of this carrier.
my wife and i really like this version because it kept our baby cool and it is very comfortable to wear for both of us.
after trying a couple of slings my wife bought i found this thing and am sold on it.
my wife can take our 25 lb 1 year old for 20 minute walks around the neighborhood in the ergo.
i will say that you need a good strong lower back for this carrier as there is only a simple criss-cross over the middle of your back and my wife says it really wears her out.
