i tried the baby bjorn, hotslings, infantino carrier, you name it and they all hurt my lower back.
i have lower back pain if i hold my baby for too long.
you can ride them up high by your face by crossing it over higher up or lower, between the boobs, by crossing it lower down.
i've seen a ton of slings that hang across the torso on a strap, and/or hang down to the waist or lower - don't get one of those!
i have injured/repaired discs in my lower back & wearing the moby doesn't hurt at all!

i find it hard centering the weight towards my lower back.
cons: the weight sits right on lower back if not adjusted right.
