it is a great way to have my hands free at the grocery store and still have a happy baby (my son is not a fan of being strapped into the car seat).
i use it frequently for shopping because it allows me to keep my hands free and avoid keeping her strapped in a car seat or carriage.
before, i was putting the infant carrier in the big basket of the shopping cart at the store and my son in the child seat.
while i recover , i can't lift my baby in her car seat, but i can carry her in the baby bjorn.
five month old is way too heavy to cart around in her car seat but isn't strong enought to hold on to me if she were on my hip.
walks, i used it sometimes around the house and even used it last weekend to take my three month old on her first airplane trip (a definite must if you don't purchase an extra seat for your baby).
i have a baby who hates to be in seats, such as a bouncy seat or even a stroller, and especially the car seat, so trips to the store where i'd try to stick the car seat in the shopping cart like
having such a large baby and carrying him around in the infant seat all the time is a huge pain (how big will he be by 6 months?) i look forward to getting lots of use out of this and i can't wait
i use it a lot when we shop - i put it on before i leave the house (works great under a seatbelt) and put her in it and my eldest in the shopping cart.
then when i get to my destination i am already to go and just take my little on out of her car seat.
there is ample storage space on this pack--a large mesh pocket, a pocket on the belt for easy access, a large compartment underneath the child's seat.
the under seat space is more than plenty for mom, dad and the babies supplies for a day hike.
the under seat storage is very useful as well.
pros: lightweight, easily adjustable, secure seat for child.
the baby seat portion of the kangakid completely zips up into the pack - with that portion zipped up, you could not tell that the kangakid carries a baby, and you could use that section like a normal
there are three "notches" so to say that can be adjusted for the baby to sit lower in the seat, or higher.
seat height adjustment does not go low enough to support their head should they fall asleep.
i wear it almost everywhere i go, so much easier than lugging around a car-seat baby carrier.
my baby likes to seat up right and it is able with this sling.
it is great for trips to the store but i haven't mastered getting him in and out of the car seat in it -- too bulky to buckle around.
baby wearing is vital for us, and we never have to use her car seat in the stores as i just put her in her sling.
i never take his car seat out of the car.
i wore the wrap 5 hours yesterday shopping in seattle.
to cut down on baggage, i did not want to bring a stroller or car seat, but i still needed a hands-free way to carry my 7-month old through the airport.
just simple car seat strap covers work wonders.my baby loves this thing and it isn't hard on the back.
although i had to make a couple of very minor adjustments to the pack (i added a little padding to the seat and protective fleece wraps to the child shoulder straps), i was off and walking with our
some cons: 1)the sun roof doesn't quite provide enough shade (just like the shades on the chicco car seats)and seems to block the baby's view a bit even when closed up.
the seat for the baby in this carrier allows for the baby to be sitting down more that just straddling a piece of material, and i really liked that.
i love that the diaper bag zips off for when we didn't need it--or so i could put the larger backpack in the overhead compartment and smaller bag under the seat on the plane.
my older daughter is about 36" tall and doesn't fit very well in the seat.
it made me nervous to put the infant carrier in the shopping cart seat like some do...the baby bjorn offers a safe and comfortable alternative.
the other carrier i had, you had to slide the baby into the seat, while making sure to line up his or her legs with the holes.
my son does not like the stroller or the car seat but he doesn't cry in the baby carrier.
it is much easier than caring a car seat everywhere.
grows with baby: seat cushion removable / leg openings have 2 sizes / headrest can be lengthened to create arm openings / newborn hood to keep baby's head snug can be folded and then removed when
next, i love that my baby is in a healthy seated position,(and as far as i can observe, she is also more comfortable.) i have read that carriers offering the front carry position (this one doesn't)
when we go out to eat, i always wear one of the babies while he carries the other in their seat.
so we wouldn't have to use the car seat as our son's getting heavy and the car seat takes up a lot of room in the buggy.
it was so nice to have my little boy near me and not worrying about carrying and balancing a heavy carseat (especially after my c-section!) or using the baby seats in the shopping carts.
without having to take the stroller and car seats.
and have more control herself), but we sometimes go places where we need to use one because stollers are not convenient, and the car seat bucket is too heavy (like sporting events or city walking).
this carrier saved me when we went through a stage (2-3 months) where she did not want to be in her car seat, either in a grocery cart or in a stroller.
i keep mine in my car for short pop-in situations that make taking the car seat to bulky.
my baby gets hot and sweaty in her car seat very easily, and she stays cool in her carrier, even when it is hot and muggy outside.
i also use it at the grocery store so that his car seat doesn't take up room in the cart.
i know i'll use them for sure :) when we went with my husband to purchase a double stroller for our two children than we found out what our son hits his head on baby's car seat at any double stroller.
not to mention the money we saved not having to buy an extra seat.
1) the seat is too narrow, putting all of baby's weight onto the crotch, contributing to spinal compression.
i learned about it in the seattle area and have since introduced it in the chicago area - i'm giving it as requested gifts left and right!
i use it all the time for walks, i used it sometimes around the house and even used it last weekend to take my three month old on her first airplane trip (a definite must if you don't purchase an
