there is one draw back, and thus 4 stars rather than 5, that it takes a little bit of practice to wrap it correctly and get baby positioned correctly.
it does take a little getting used to with tying it up, but is so very worth it for comfort of parent and baby.
so - the first time i tried to put my little one in the wrap it ended with a screaming baby, spit up on the wrap and a frustrated me.
it doesn't help that my baby happens to be a little heat box anyway, even when not in the moby.
but with a little assistance from your partner you can escape from it with out waking baby.
the bottom line: worth the money and worth the little extra time it takes to learn to use!
the wrap will require a little practice to properly put the wrap on you and get your baby into the wrap initially, (recommend having a 2nd person help the first couple of times getting the baby in
it holds your baby snuggly and there is very little material/staps between you and your baby
of baby around :) the moby wrap does take a little bit of practice, but it's well worth it!
before i bought it, i was using a baby bjorn - but it only offers 2 carry positions for my little one, and she is too small for one of them.
i will say i wish i had bought it sooner because my baby is going on 18lbs and is getting a little heavy to tote around all day long.
i think the impovement that could be made to this product is to make it somehow grow with you baby - it can be a real tight squeeze if your baby is a chunky little meatloaf like mine was.
it's a great product and our little girl loves being in it, but we do wish that we had gotten the model with the additional back support.
i think if you start using it when your baby is little and continue to use it regularly, your back muscle gradually strengthen as the baby gets heavier.
the first time i put him in it he was only about 2 weeks old and the lack of head support, even with the top part fastened up, was a little uncomfortable for both of us but once he grew a little and
it is a little pricy, but i agree that if you want a front carrier, you need to pay for this brand.
it is a little intimidating, so much fabric, and it took a couple of tries but i caught on pretty quick after watching a couple of you-tube videos posted by other moms - they explained it much better
breathable fabric cons: a little on the pricey side the bottom line: a great product to use to carry your baby.
the only reason i gave it 4 stars is becuase it is a little difficult to manuever baby in and out.
folding it up in its little mesh pouch requires some imagination but overall the best of the bjorns!
it was a little difficult to get him in and out at first, but after a few times it was simple.
i found the straps to be a little confusing, but i also didn't spend much time tryng to figure it out.
i find it to be a little cumbersome and a bit heavy for my lower back, but i have only used it a couple of times and am so used to the baby bjorn that it probably just takes a little getting used to
i'm 5'11 with a medium build; my wife is 5'4 with a slim build; our little girl (at the time the pack was purchased) is 12.5 lbs.
after an hour or so of wear, i find myself pulling at the straps a little to find a comfortable spot on my shoulders.
the "fanny pack" came in handy for little snacks and my sons sippie cup.
i never thought i would use a canopy on this type of product but i have and it is a great feature to keep your little one dry.
it has been a lifesaver for little things like wearing it while vacuuming and folding laundry.
this product works better if your baby is a little older, when he is too young his head bounced around alot and so you have to use one hand to support it.
i purchased a gently used baby bjorn original for $20-i was amazed by how well it held up after having already been through two baby boys and then onto my little girl.
took a little getting used to putting the carrier on at first (have a friend/spouse on hand first times) - it felt like putting on an octopus to a new mom.
some reviews noted it offers little or no back support for the person carrying the baby.
it took my baby and me a little getting used to, but i can't think of a better way to carry my son hands-free!
the baby bjorn is a little more expensive than some competing brands, but it's worth it.
it does take a little longer to put it on (though not more than 20 seconds once you're used to it), but then you can leave it on even when you take the baby out, unlike a carrier.
she keeps volunteering to carry the new baby, but i think she needs to grow a little still before she can wear sarah.
my only complaint is that it does get pretty warm in hot weather and takes a few seconds to get on (also a little tricky not to drag the ends on the ground if you are putting it on outside) - but
it's a little tricky - but what i do is put him sideways, then put the two arm straps to support his shoulders and his butt.
it's a little bit difficult to get the tying technique down at first but after a few tries i was able to get it on pretty quickly.
this takes a little bit of getting use to, but it is by far the least complicated thing that i have for my baby.
i never really used the pouch for the cradle carry, since my little one didn't like it, but we did do the tummy to tummy carry and kangaroo carry which my lil guy loved.
he's 4 months old now & seems a little squished but he isn't complaining so he must be comfy cos he'll just sleep in it for the longest time.
i literally could not have gotten through the first 8 months of my little one's life without this sling.
this sling saved me when my son was little!
it should be noted that although the pack is really bulky (and, hence, a little scary in tightly-confined stores with lots of breakables), the same places where the pack was a tight fit were
it was comfortable to carry my son in but on some cliffs ledges it was a little wobbly.
it adjusts to both us and our little one now 1 loves it!
i went hiking by myself the other day, and it was very convenient to just pull the little mirror out of the shoulder strap and peek at him.
the price is a little steep but quality and ease of use makes it worth every penny.
it was so nice to have my little boy near me and not worrying about carrying and balancing a heavy carseat (especially after my c-section!) or using the baby seats in the shopping carts.
it is a little tricky to get the pack strapped on and the baby in and out--but that's probably a good thing for his safety.
i thought that was a little weird considering the box says it should carry a baby upto 26 lbs when im stuggling to carry my baby and she's only 14 lbs.
even with it tightened all the way down, his little head flopped all over the place and i felt like i needed to hold the top of it which defeats the purpose of a carrier (being hands free)the other
ok, bought this last night to sub the $65 sling carrier that freaked out my little peanut cuz it covered the face.
this kelty was comfy and rock solid for our little guy.
the baby pouch is nice and secure and well padded so when our little one falls asleep i know he will be comfortable.
it did get a little uncomfortable after a couple hours of wear but throughout crazy horse, mount rushmore, and the wind caves it was perfect.
a little big, but the kid's getting big too, i guess.
the only negative i've found so far is that i wish the waist belt had a little more padding in the back like some of the more expensive carriers.
the loop that holds the two pieces of fabric can be a little difficult to reach...it is supposed to be in the middle of your back when positioned right but seems to be a little higher on me.
my little girl is usually very finicky when i put her in a carrier but my baby loves this one.
my little one loves riding around in this!
cons: a little bit of a learning curve and not quite as quick and easy to use as a pouch sling.
he absolutely loves it and, as others have noted, usually falls asleep in it rght away.it is far more comfortable and far less awkward to use with a little one than a front carrier.
as your baby gets bigger, but you can kind of spread the material at the shoulder to distribute the weight a little.
i have 2 other kids, and people think i'm "super-mom" because i can do almost anything with this sling-bake cookies, do laundry, etc.-little do they know that i wear my baby the whole time.
my co-worker told me about this, and it's the best little known secret out there.
it took a little practice but now it is an indispensible part of our daily life.
i hike in it, but i also do chores around the house with my little guy riding around with me.
(i just don't get why those backpacks style packs have so little carrying space.)
shoulders did hurt a little.
