many other brands have buckles in front of your baby's belly that are pinchy and have no padding at all.
the baby pouch is nice and secure and well padded so when our little one falls asleep i know he will be comfortable.
the back padding to excellent and waist belt can pulled extremely tight and also very comfortable with plenty of padding.
the baby's straps are wide and well-padded but the design is breathable, she's worn short-sleeved shirts and we've had no problems with chaffing or the straps cutting into her skin.
- comfy, well-padded shoulder straps and waist band
my 8 month old loves it because of the great padding.
i tried the chicco one for 100 bucks and for me, a smaller lady it didnt sit high enough and the belt around the waist wasn't thick and padded enough.
the build quality, padding, zipping, and all that doodaddy stuff seems comparable on the two models.
my baby loves this carrier, and i love how comfy it is for him - we had another more serious one and he got lost in it (he's 8 months old) but this one is very padded around the top so he can fall
although i had to make a couple of very minor adjustments to the pack (i added a little padding to the seat and protective fleece wraps to the child shoulder straps), i was off and walking with our
this one had good padding and straps and is padded all around.
sturdily built, but with enough padding where it is needed.
there is a place for my cell phone right on the shoulder straps and the padding for the parent in the shoulder and back area is superb.
we had been using our baby bjorn, but it was starting to hurt our backs and especially our shoulders, and the padding got lumpy after i washed it.
also, it doesn't have quite as much padded support in the front as the bjorn, so i find myself needing to hold my baby's hands or torso to help him keep his head up when he gets tired.
third, there's no weird padding to make me look even bulkier than my post-partum body already is.
both padded and not padded.
padded sling: (i have one of these - can't remember the brand)
very comfortable as both shoulder & waist straps are well padded.
it also has very nice padded shoulder straps.
the thick padded shoulder straps are also nice, and the backpack-like structure distributes weight nicely in the front or back positions.
i used the over the shoulder baby holder with my first child and liked it a lot except for the excessive padding.
as a newborn carrier (padded with folded blanket) it was great for keeping him close and cozy, and warding off unwanted touches.
(i can even fold it up in my pocket, for use during our walks!) nom more hot padding, rings that slip and backaches!
not as comfortable as the padded slings, but to take along in my diaperbag or purse you can't beat it!
only thing with this sling is that you must be careful not to bump the baby as there is no padding anywhere.
i chose this over the bjorn carrier(which sells for way more) not because of price but because where the legs go there is a padded cushion in the jeep one whereas there is only plastic on the bjorn.
my husband and i liked it that the padded strap gently distributed the weight over the shoulders.
positives: this is a very well padded, very well built item.
pros: cost efficient, strong, and is made with padding for comfort.
the straps aren't so padded as i thought, and if i have it on too long i'll get some back and shoulder pain.
pros: comfy for parent and baby, nicely padded, great for the price cons: makes you back sore after long walks, but what carrier wouldn't the bottom line: this is a fairly good carrier for
pros: padded straps-comfy for baby!
the padding is great in it, and you can get your baby up high and tight on your chest, so your baby (and you) feels secure.
i love the lightly padded shoulder, it is more comfortable than the unpadded slings i have.
when people think of slings, they think of ring slings, and this maya lightly padded should win the prize for best workhorse sling.
i can imagine that the none padded version might be better.
it is lightweight but still has ample padding.
it really looks great, and seems safe, padded and all that.
the padding for the child and parent is tremendous.
great padding.
the padding is substantial and similar to what you'd see on a higher end internal frame backpack.
at first i didn't think i was going to like all the padding, but now that my baby weighs 25 pounds i am sooo glad i have it.
the only problem i found with this product is that if you live someplace where the weather can get hot and humid, the extra layers and padding can get hot really quickly.
best feature: the padded shoulder, of course!
the end that he sits in is heavily padded so no circulation is cut off.
first, i wore mine all the time and want some visual/style variety and second, i found the padded edges and head pad make it a bit bulky, felt like i looked really fat when i had it on.
i have also used the maya pouch and it is not well padded for the baby and the sizing does not give a good fit.
a little more padding on the shoulder strap and some on the waist strap would make it perfect.
i only gave it 4 stars because the shoulder strap needs a little more padding.
the shoulder is heavily padded in the middle of the bag, which is a joy on my shoulders.
i tried it and it hurt my neck, even with the padded strap.
nice padding, feels very well built, like it will last awhile.
wish that the part of the sling where the baby's head is was more padded.
the pros: the padded shoulder, adjustable strap, mesh sides, and elastic top.
the elasticized padding on the top rails closes over baby's face and can cause rebreathing of air inside the carrier and suffocation against side of sling.
the padding on the strap is nice.
i wish they would add more padding to the back support on this carrier, and then i would gladly give it 5 stars!!
it has a perfect amount of padding, my daughter is always happy to be in it and is very comfortable.
the only thing i don't like about it is that it's getting warmer outside and with the padding i get a little sweaty where the carrier sits (the small of my back and my shoulders.) :(
this carrier has padding that is very comfortable for baby but not too warm (we even used it in hawaii), and it is the most comfortable (by far) for me, the parent to wear.
it's also slightly less comfortable for a really long haul because the padding on the straps isn't quite as good as the snugli's.
