pros: great design, ergonomic position for baby, durable fabric, waist belt, front, back and hip carry
pros: easy to usenon gender specificaffordabledurablenice fabric
the fabric is soft enough for the baby, but hard enough so you can adjust the straps every timie you want it.
the padded straps are extremely comfortable and because they are covered with the same fabric as the rest of the carrier, they stay securely on my back and shoulders as they are intended to.
'kangaroo time' (sink on skin time w/mom & dad as much as possible to foster growth etc) was so easy w/the bjorn-even with my own skin agains the fabric i was comfortable, so i knew my baby was too!
i have only washed my carrier 3 times at the most and i just noticed the fabric fraying on the outside part that folds down.
it is well constructed and made with durable and heavey duty fabric.
also, my husband was able to wear the same size sling as i did thanks to the slight stretch in the fabric, so he also got the benefit of baby-wearing, and i really think it made him closer to our son.
i love the light weight fabric, the padded portion is perfect for little faces.
put it on, put her in it, adjust the fabric up her back, and off we went.
on the plus side if you are going the sling route this sling is very soft high quality fabric and i did think it was nicer tham the hotsling.
the black cotton fabric is sturdy and soft, but it collects lint.
it's so easy to use - no wrapping, just two loops of fabric - and has lots of carrying positions.
i tried jacob in it at two weeks, and he didn't like it--too much fabric around his head.
i love that there are no buckles or extra fabric and that it can be worn a number of ways.
the loop that holds the two pieces of fabric can be a little difficult to reach...it is supposed to be in the middle of your back when positioned right but seems to be a little higher on me.
another consideration - if you plan to use it in the summer, keep in mind that when properly carried in the cradle/sling position, the baby will be wrapped in 4 layers of fabric.
sure enough when i tried on the medium there was lots of loose fabric, and although it was easy to get the baby into it, i was hitting the baby when i was walking.
when this arrived i was skeptical, it is just a big piece of fabric, but from the first time we put our newborn in it we were sold.
it does take some getting used to and it is a must to keep the fabric stretched across your shoulder so that it does not pull on it.
just make sure the baby is snuggled nice and tight, and adjust the fabric around the baby.
i love the plain fabric, the black i have goes with everything and i don't look like a hippie!
