the 'active' part of this carrier is extra back support and a nice feature but i was unsure how much more support it gave over the standard baby bjorn.
we decided to purchase the active carrier because we planned to use it frequently and we were warned that we would have a big baby, therefore, we opted for the extra support of the active model.
this product works better if your baby is a little older, when he is too young his head bounced around alot and so you have to use one hand to support it.
i have a big baby, and this product made it comfortable to carry him, with the lumbar support.
first i purchased the jeep model because it was much cheaper, but after a trip around the block with my 8 lbs, one month old baby, i realized that i need a back support- i felt pregnant again.
it snaps together easier and provides much more support for mom and baby.
it's a great product and our little girl loves being in it, but we do wish that we had gotten the model with the additional back support.
we had originally got the infantino baby carrier for our shower, we used it a bunch and i thought it was great, although i always felt that baby's head was not well supported and tended to bounce
it is a very nice carrier that is very easy to put your baby in and out but it does lack the back support that the sport model has.
the first time i put him in it he was only about 2 weeks old and the lack of head support, even with the top part fastened up, was a little uncomfortable for both of us but once he grew a little and
it is one of the only baby carriers that gives you actual back support, it's easy to use, and is easy to clean.
-- it is very supportive for my baby who still needs some neck support.
sometimes the baby slides in great, other times it's a struggle to get him positioned correctly so that his head is supported correctly and he is not in danger of squirming his way out.
it has perfect support for my newborn's head and neck unlike other hi tech carriers.
i can adjust the knot (i knot in back) so that i get good lumbar support, and spreading it good on the shoulders really takes the strain off.
seemed a bit large on "length" for my wife who is a small person but works even better because she can wrap it around herself, "more times", for more support.
also, it doesn't have quite as much padded support in the front as the bjorn, so i find myself needing to hold my baby's hands or torso to help him keep his head up when he gets tired.
i also have the baby bjorn with lumbar support but my son does not seem to like this as much.
we have the one with the back support, and my husband loves it.
great for nursing when they are tiny because it supports the babies weight when it would often hurt my back otherwise.
i still had only one hand free, because he hated the head tucking thing, so i had to support it often.
the moby wrap also does the weight bearing job of supporting the baby instead of your arms having to do the work.
the moby is also better for small babies vs a sling or front carrier -- i never worry about her neck support in the moby.
if you leave the cloth wide across your back, then it helps give more support.
this product has great head support and adequate oppenings for arms and legs.
i recently purchased a used baby bjorn active carrier which has lumbar support - world of difference with the lumbar support!
easy to get baby out and in!!!supports the babys weight, no strain on back....
she is still only 8 and 1/2 lbs at 2 months old, and she is well supported and comfortable in it.
i have a sore back from some injuries i sustained as a teenager in sports, and this carrier gives plenty of support when properly adjusted.
great back and shoulder support for parents and it lets baby be forward facing.
for the most part my hips seem to support most of the weight, which helps in alleviating those backaches.
you get the hip support, made in the usa and eco-friendlyness of the ergobaby, with the outward and inward facing of the bjorn.
i do miss the support that my bjorn active gives, but small price to pay for safety of our baby!
the best part is that it gives really good back support which is so important when you're carrying your baby for a while.
i loved my last baby bjorn, the sport one with the back support.
unless you really need the back support of the "active" one this is a great baby carrier.
initially i was a bit wary as this model lacks the lumbar support panel that the original carrier has, but i've had no back/shoulder pain and my baby is 95th % for weight!
hidden support inside the carrier ensures baby is held securely and not wobbling all over.
put a blanket behind your baby's head to support it.
the ergo is to be used only when a child can support his own head well, but there is an infant insert you can buy to use before that.
it is a bit complicated (you have to watch the videos on their website to put it on properly), but once on is quite comfortable for the adult, especially if you need lower back support.
we were a little hesitant when my son was first born because there wasn't much head support, but now that he's showing more head control (at two months), it works great!
the reason i only gave it four stars is that it doesn't have a lumbar support so after a while of wearing him it can leave my lower back a shoulders a little sore.
i already had the $120 baby bjorn sport with "extra back support" so i felt i did not need this carrier as well.
pros: price, versatility, ease of use cons: lack of back support, holds babies by crotch the bottom line: i would recommend this carrier to anyone with an infant, especially those that
the wrap is the way to go and is helpful in two main ways with an infant 1) it allows you to do things hands free without the worry of supporting your infants head and 2) it holds the infant close to
it's a little tricky - but what i do is put him sideways, then put the two arm straps to support his shoulders and his butt.
i am able to carry him mostly hands free (if i bend over i support his head, even if it is supported by the wrap).
it is easy to adjust to any body, and has a lumbar support which we both find helpful and comfortable.
this one has lumbar support--a necessity!!!
our little one often naps and the front fabric folded down serves as a soft and supportive pillow for him.
pros: comfortable straps, baby doesn't slip down, good back support,?
also, the lumbar "support" doesn't even have an effect on how the baby is held, so it doesn't really support anything.
it is very easy to use, many carrying positions (8), can nurse my baby in it privately, very soft comfortable material, and it is comfortable on my back (it has a back support band that slides up and
it is essentially two pouch slings tied together, plus a sash to use as extra support for some of the positions.
regardless of whether we place her on our back or chest, she sits on the hip support, which absorbs the majority of her weight.
pros: very supportive, nice look to it, comfortable, mesh sleep hood.
