my son quickly outgrew our bjorn - 20lbs at six months, and since he has two older siblings, i needed to be able to carry him everywhere and for long periods of time.
i regulary carry wipes, diapers for my infant and my potty-training toddler, plus at least one change of clothes for each child in the two larger compartments.
upon opening the front flap velcro, there are two pen holders and two compartments/pockets which will fit a wallet, or checkbook or even diapers if that's where you want to put them.
* for parents, there are two inside pockets with zippers that are perfect for wallets and other small items.
i tried jacob in it at two weeks, and he didn't like it--too much fabric around his head.
the loop that holds the two pieces of fabric can be a little difficult to reach...it is supposed to be in the middle of your back when positioned right but seems to be a little higher on me.
it's so easy to use - no wrapping, just two loops of fabric - and has lots of carrying positions.
very cool design - like two slings together.
my other two are both pouch slings: a hotsling and an adjustable mayawrap pouch sling.
i used mine with my daughter even when she was two years old and i was five months pregnant.
i have two kids and i love to have one in my hotsling while the other is in the stroller/shopping cart.
its also easy to get on and off unlike the other two i had.
how much difference can their be between two different brands of mei tais?
i love this pack, but the first two/three times i used this to carry my 20lbs son, it felt a bit wobbly.
we used this pack on a two-week tour of western turkey.
he's 25lbs and the pack had enough adjustment in it to make him comfortable, and i expect him to be able to fit in it for at least another year or two.
it's nice to be able to use two hands to get things done too, even if it's just responding to an email.
we have two other slings (the adjustable kind with rings) and a baby bjorn-- none of them hold a candle to the peanut shell.
she is 5 months old now and i don't think that she could stand being scrunched up in the hotsling for more than an hour or two unless she was tired.
i have two of these now.
after inputting my measurements it provided me with two possible sizes.
the hotsling didn't fit right, i tried a 1& 2 my two closest sizes.
i love that it is easy for my child to see the world while being carried and it definitely makes it easier for me to care for my two-year-old and 7 month old at the same time!
my two babies love it too.
because of this, it would be really hard for this carrier to be shared between two parents of different size.
i can take my baby anywhere and still have two hands available.
we were a little hesitant when my son was first born because there wasn't much head support, but now that he's showing more head control (at two months), it works great!
i am 5'4 and my husband is 6'+ and we can easily switch it between the two of us because it adjusts so easily.
if you have twins ...
i know i'm not as flexible as i used to be, but at thirty-two, it really seems like it shouldn't be so tough.
the ergo baby is the one we use, the other two we donated to the salvation army.
we purchased this carrier after a recommendation from a friend (parent of twins living in nyc).
we bought 2 of these for our now 4 month old twins.
and still have my hands free for my other two!
i purchased this for my newborn two years ago, and he hated it.
i used a blanket (or two) under her to make sure she wasn't suffocating herself & also wasn't being covered by the sides of the sling.
--i could carry him and walk two dogs
this sling is helpful in that it keeps my baby snug and secure while allowing me to walk, shop, hold a diaper bag and keep up with my two and a half year old daughter.
you don't need two people to put it on or help you to put the baby in.
it is also good if you have twins like us because when i go to the market i put one baby on my back in this and use another carrier on my front.there is no back pain when i wear this like with some
we wanted to have two carriers for convenience, but this one would've been fine if we only needed one.
whenever i have yardwork to get done while the two of us are home alone, i put her in it, and she loves it.
the straps are in two pieces and began to bunch up and pull off my shoulders, and i am not able to adjust it to be much tighter.
