my husband uses the baby bjorn which i also did not like because it was giving me backaches.
secondly, looking back to when he was tiny, it was a god-send as i had a colicky baby and a jealous toddler.
mom has found it to have a more natural feeling/carrying position and less painful on the back than the baby bjorn.
can get the hang of wrapping it even in public places, but i mostly wrap it onto myself before i leave the house then just wear it until i am ready to put baby in, take her out, put her back in etc.
it distributes the weight of the baby evenly across the back, reducing neck and shoulder pain.
it is true what others are saying this product is really easy n your back, i have tried others and this one is far more better.
i tried the baby bjorn and a sling and it was hard on my back and he outgrew the baby bjorn - he's a big boy!
this carrier is comfortable, reduced my back pain (my 4 month old is 20lbs!) and it folds up so i can toss it in my bag when i'm not using it.
plusses: it's very comfortable for me, our baby looks pretty comfortable in it, and it's easy to bring along because it doesn't take up much space in a backpack.
i had another carrier but it killed my back.
we had been using our baby bjorn, but it was starting to hurt our backs and especially our shoulders, and the padding got lumpy after i washed it.
i owned a baby bjorn with my first daughter and found it to be very hard on my back in a matter of minutes.
it's comfortable without pulling on your back and allows you full control of your baby.
after an on line and store search, this backpack seemed the best product and easiest to obtain using the store pick up.
this pack worked great until today when i went to fold it up after we came back from our hike something inside the folding mechanism on the leg broke.
my son loves it and it doesn't hurt my back at all.
depending on how short or tall you are, i loved the fact that i could put it on the table, put my son in and then turn my back to him so i could strap it on.....very convenient because you don't need
however, the padding on the back where it rests on your hips/lower back is not padded correctly, the padding stops just above the hard plastic - all i do to correct that is wear either a nursing
it gave me back my arms and hands as my baby snuggled into my chest.
he's guaranteed to fall asleep within minutes when he's in it, and it's so much easier on our tired backs than some of the other carriers we've tried.
i thought this carrier was really expensive, but it was the only one that looked like it had any back support.
i also have tried the ergobaby, but i like this because my baby can sit in it - facing front or back - and she can keep her legs fairly close together.
very comfortable on my back, easy to adjust and change sizes for me and my husband, and baby loves it.
my hubby and i love this carrier, it is very comfortable on our backs, easily adjustable and i don't know how people would do without it!!
first i purchased the jeep model because it was much cheaper, but after a trip around the block with my 8 lbs, one month old baby, i realized that i need a back support- i felt pregnant again.
we purchased it because it was well rated and we like it.easy adjustable and have support for the baby head.the belts provide comfort for the back and shoulders, easy to carry the baby and do some
we were impressed at the craftsmanship, the innovation and above all, everything that came with the backpack/carrier.
i ordered this backpack primarily because we took a cross country trip to idaho with planned stops at mt rushmore and black hills and ending up in coeur d'alene for the ironman triathlon.
when not in used it condenses down into a normal backpack look.
i get questions and smiles everywhere i go with this backpack - it is a real attention getter.
although i haven't had a chance to use it on a full-out backpacking trip or anything, it does great for day hikes and doing work around the house.
fantastic on the back.
can be used in front or on the back
pros: lightweight, makes my back feel better, packs nicely for travel.
pros: comfortable for long periods, both hands free, looks and feels great, money-back guarantee.
pros: great design, ergonomic position for baby, durable fabric, waist belt, front, back and hip carry
i have a back and shoulder problem after the delivery so the baby bjorn doesn't help but worsen it.
but over all this wrap has been a godsend, allowing me to soothe my baby while getting things done and here's another big plus - it's easy on the back (better than a sling or even just carrying baby
it doesn't require being taken off every time you take a baby out and put a baby back in, so that is nice.
you could wear this wrap all day and never get tired of it because it evenly distributes baby's weight through your shoulders, back and waist.
due to my pregnancy i tied the wrap under my belly, and it didn't make it around to the back again, but no problems!
it's a great product and our little girl loves being in it, but we do wish that we had gotten the model with the additional back support.
it is a very nice carrier that is very easy to put your baby in and out but it does lack the back support that the sport model has.
i also received a backpack-style carrier which was a total nightmare for me-it takes 2 adults to put it on and take it off.
he (now just over 1 month old) is perfectly content from the second you put him in this carrier, and it's so much more comfortable than the slings i've tried....this is a back saver.
the baby is more secure and it is better on the back.
kelty fc 3.0 baby backpack.
i was worried that it would shift weight too far up and back from the wearer, but we never noticed whether it was zipped on or being carried by someone else in the group.
the pictures in the ownern's manual are a bit 1-dimensional so it took some looking at the picture, then back at the pack, and so forth.
i was worried the backpack would be heavy since it's so big, but it really is pretty light.
all the adjustment put the weight on your hips and takes it off your shoulders and away from your back so you don't get all sweaty.
i've tried 4 different types of carriers and this is the only one that my 8 month old enjoys and my back can handle.
i was looking for a new carrier for my 14 mo old son as he was starting to outgrow his bjorn carrier and it was starting to hurt my shoulders and back carrying him in it.
-when worn correctly, it puts the weight of the baby on your hips instead of your shoulders and back.
i chose this carrier vs others because of how the weight of a growing baby can be displaced to the hips/pelvis, vs carrying the entire weight on my back.
the key to this one is the fact that when properly worn, all the weight of the baby is on your hips, just like a good trecking backpack.
the reason i only gave it four stars is that it doesn't have a lumbar support so after a while of wearing him it can leave my lower back a shoulders a little sore.
my son loves to hang in it and it's easy on the shoulders and back!
i thought my back would hurt after wearing it for so long, but it never has.
i already had the $120 baby bjorn sport with "extra back support" so i felt i did not need this carrier as well.
i've only worn it around the house but it doesn't seem to hurt my back, in fact, it feels quite comfortable.
my son is 10 months and he wont go back in his stroller after this!!
i have a 13 year old and back when she was a baby, this thing was sooooo heavy, that i basically never used it.
once i got it adjusted correctly (i missed the waist belt adjustment at first - it moves up and down and there are latches to hold it in place) i barely felt his 27 lbs on my back.
it felt like i was carrying an empty backpack!
my husband really wanted a backpack for our son, he had been using my front pack and didn't like it.
the fact that it transforms from a backpack carrier to a stroller is absolutely awesome.
the kelty convertible baby backpack is so simple to convert from stroller to backpack.
we simply converted the stroller to the backpack and walked on the beach with our son with us.
we used the backpack/stroller for a trip to the grand canyon, zion & bryce canyons.
the beauty about the convertible is when we went to the beach, we converted our stroller into the backpack, and were able to walk on the beach as a family, without the hassles of trying to push the
the backpack on the whole works very well; it is adjustable for both my husband and i as well as the baby.
the first few times i used it my shoulders and back became very sore.
unfortunately we do not have a backpack outfitter store nearby to help me figure out if i'm doing something wrong (i bought it online).
at one point, she fell asleep and her head was bobbing back and forth, so we cut our hike short.
after trying out an rei and kelty brand backpack, i ordered a deuter kid comfort i.
