the 'active' part of this carrier is extra back support and a nice feature but i was unsure how much more support it gave over the standard baby bjorn.

we decided to purchase the active carrier because we planned to use it frequently and we were warned that we would have a big baby, therefore, we opted for the extra support of the active model.
