I went into the sound settings of my ipod and checked 'bass reducer' but the speaker still gives it too much bass albeit w/o distortion and at high volume. They remind me of Grado headphones- great sound but could still do better at studio reproduction. The Klipsch doesn't seem to deliver the detailed sound that I was hoping for. And if you care about the remote, you won't like that it is not a RF meaning that you have to point right dead center of it for it to work.
COOOOOONNNNNNNTotally disappointment with the remote. All it does is power on , volume up down. Klipsch forgot to handle playlists for the remote...in my opinion that sucks........and they want to sell this for 150 american dollars!!!!Returning this one to Bestbuy right now and going for the yamaha ipod speakers.
Great bass, great sound. Simply a great product. Klipsch appears to be as good as I've always heard.
I just recently purchased this speaker. It actually was not in the running when I was looking for a speaker dock because the previous version did not charge the second generation Ipod Touch or second generation or 3GS Iphone. I am happy to report that Klipsch has updated this model so it now supports all of the newer Ipods and Iphones. Also, the Igroove SXT is now bi-amplified, which means each driver is individually amplified.
I have owned Klipsch speakers exclusively for over 20 years; you could say I'm a fan. I bought the unit for use on my lanai and paid $80 all-in on eBay.
Better than most I have heard, and especially for the sale price of $91.00. That is the same price as the iHome, which I have as well, and this blows it out of the water! It's a Klipsch, what else is there to say. I would definitely recommend this.
"Where's the bass?," we both asked. This was a unit that we felt would soon become tiring to listen to, analytical as opposed to musical. (In this regard, we actually preferred the sound of the much-cheaper Pure-Fi Express Plus.) Initially reluctant to go over the $150 price point, realities finally pushed us to try out the Klipsch, and we quickly decided that the slightly higher price was well justified. For our listening tastes, we found the Klipsch to have the best balanced sound under $200, integrating detail, sound stage, clarity, and above all, harmonious musicality.
I bought the Klipsch iGroove so I could listen to my iPod while working on my car in the garage. We have a Bose iPod unit in the house so we can compare them side by side.
The Klipsch iGroove has to be one of the best iPod docks in terms of value for money. As of this writing, it sells for around $100 and I'll go as far as to say you won't find a better sounding setup for that price.
Okay, after reading through several of the reviews on here, I decided to head over to Best Buy to see this unit in person. At that point I was between the Altec Lansing iM310 and the Klipsch iGroove SXT. To be completely honest, the Altec didn't last for long, due to my own preference for Klipsch products and the similarity in price.
