This machine does in fact have a certain tinniness to recorded messages, which is somewhat hard to understand given the advertised statement that it's a 'digital' machine. I could barely understand one message I received. from Amazon.com I had an old 2 tape machine which we have had for probably over 20 years. I bought it because my (expensive) three handset Panasonic cordless phone system has an answering machine without digital read out, so I never know how many messages came in my absence.
