If you'd like some clear treble or clarity in general - look elsewhere. It feels like everything is rolled off over 4 or 6Khz. Possibly due to inexpensive op amps. When listening you're always longing for some ..less..mush I guess.
The tuner sound was bassie and sounded just ok. I attached a CD player and a mp3 player to the system and they sounded very good. The amp puts out about 25 watts this is more that enough for my building. Overall a good receiver for such a cheap price.
I bought the TIC AMP 10 to use by the pool. The sound is very good, FM reception could be better, the kids love the iPod connector and the sound quality from that is great.
I ended up routing it through a window which is not what I wanted to do in the first place. So that already was not good. Next I hooked up the TIC out door speakers (I already forget the model number but the black ones that stick into the ground and have a hemisphere looking top) to the receiver and they sounded ok at first. I noticed if I put a song on with a lot of bass the speakers would drop in volume and stay there even though I hadn't touched the volume, which basically has to be set on max.
The only neg. comment is one already listed - It is hard to see the display in the sunlight, however there is no problems at night. I have it driving two TIC rock speakers with not problems.
TIC CORPORATION AMP10 Exterior Receiver Amplifier (Black Finish)
the lcd display was very poor, no matter what the light condition. almost impossible to read. in short, if you need a waterproof unit, this is prolly ok; and maybe it sounds good with the TIC rock or omni- style speakers, but it was definitely a 3 strikes you're out for me. definitely inferior to a garage-sale or goodwill receiver for much cheaper.
i am using it on the deck with 4 phoenix gold 5 1/2" outdoor speakers.had to replace antenna with a cheap dipole indoor antenna and it works fine for fm and mp3 player.
the receiver came with all cables need to hook up a cd player or an mp3 player.
all of this was from the provided 3.5mm headphone jack to 3.5mm headphone jack cable that came with the unit hooked up to my iphone.
