the unit has almost infinate settings for the fans speed, an 18-hour electronic timer, uv light on/off switch, an oscillation on/off switch and a negative ion on/off switch.
this one comes with the uv light so it is an air cleaner and purifier in one.
i always use the uv feature, but not the ionizing feature.
i don't use the uv feature, but i do like the ionizer.
she has chest cold and i decided to use uv antibacterial.

when i purchased this item, i was looking for a couple of features: filterless air purifier and a uv component.
the pros are the cost of the system including the cost of replacement filters (this can be far greater with other products) and the ability to turn off the components such as the uv light.

about 6 months after i purchased the units the uv lamps went out.
however, my major complaint comes from the fact that the uv lamp has already burned out and it just seems a bit ludicrous to have to replace a $79 lamp in four months.
