Even though Delta is no longer made in the USA, at least not the consumer line, I have to say that I'm very satisfied with this unit. It arrived today in nearly perfect condition. from Amazon.com Not to mention helping to keep dust off everything in your shop. It's not a cure-all but if properly placed, for instance, in the vicinity of your table saw it will help keep the dust away from you while you work and then capture much of the dust as it circulates around your shop. The Delta 50-875 should be only a part of your effort to clean the air in your shop but it is well worth the money. from Amazon.com My unit came in a container with a lot of cardboard packaging intended to protect the unit. Despite the manufacturer's efforts, the flow display was damaged, and the unit was severely out of square. Delta promptly shipped a replacement display. I removed the filters and bent the unit back into square. from Amazon.com I really did not know what to expect when I ordered the Delta 50-875 air purifier. Having ordered other tools made by Delta I was sure I would get a quality product and I was not disappointed. from Amazon.com I had been trying to determine which air purifier to purchase. Then one Sunday in January '06 Amazon must have had a special because the price dropped to $219 vice the regular $249. I had read other reviews of this product and was skeptial about buying the Delta model based on the horror stories about shipping damage. Well, I had to take a chance at this low price. from Amazon.com Closer inspection showed the squirrel cage air fan to be out of balance and not spinning true on the shaft axis. The motor shaft appears to be straight and spinning true, so I assume once the fan itself is replaced and balanced the vibration will cease. I don't know yet as I had to return it to a Delta Service Center 75 miles from my house and it's still in for repairs. It arrived in perfect condition and functions well. from Amazon.com I just ordered an remote air purifier Delta model 50-857 from catalog # 549 page 23 where it says I am entitled to a free tool, I was told by the person with whom I placed my order that it is not an X_5 tool of which there are none in this catalog for my money I was supposed to get either a 3x21" belt sander or a router I would select the router so what gives? an electrostaic filter does not constatuate a tool.??????ggm from Amazon.com
