I bought this Peaceful Air Purifier last month. At first it had a strong odor, the room smelt of it for hours. from Target.com Product does not clean the air as well as they claim. Cannot even tell if the ionizer is working properly since I do not sense any difference in air quality like I could with others I have used in the past. from Amazon.com QUIET!!! But when a friend asks if I stopped smoking since he could smell no odor in the room, I knew that this purifier was doing its job. At first it had a strong odor, the room smelt of it for hours. from Target.com Although I liked that I could keep it on my desk without it taking up a lot of space or blowing away papers (as the exhaust blows out from the top), the smell was even too overpowering for company that didn’t have allergies. As for noise level, it is “whisper quiet” (as claimed) on the lowest setting, but not on medium to high. Reviewers for other purifiers compared noise level (on medium setting) to turning a car’s air conditioner on high, which I would say this unit was also comparable to.
