The unit has a very quiet (barely noticeable) buzz, and eliminates unwanted odors in the closet. You know how clean clothes and linens get "musty" after time in the closet? Windchaser lessens that smell quite well. No it doesn't make clothes smell fresh - but it keeps them not smelling anything at all. from Amazon.com before i got the purifier, despite frequent cleaning, the cat box would periodically make the whole closet and the room it was attached to smell like kitty excrement. from Amazon.com (on the other hand, sharper image doesn't sell them anymore, which is why i went looking) if they work these are wonderful, leaving the closet smelling very clean. from Amazon.com seemed to mitigate odors? from Amazon.com ionizaion produces slightly ozone-smelling air, just like after a lightning storm, which some find pleasant. from Amazon.com After 2 months of use, am still undecided.
