This model is the 3rd Friedrich AC I've owned in the last 9 years. First one died in 5 years, second one died in 3 years, and this one died in 1 year. from Amazon.com I own four different Friedrich air conditioners and all of them have, and continue to, serve me well. I just recently purchased the XQ08L10 X Star and I am not at all happy with it. from Amazon.com I bought this because of a Consumer Reports recommendation that it was the quietest 8000 BTU unit available.
