We purchased the royal Sovereign ARP-4009 June 2008, used it last summer for about 3 months and didn't turn it on again until July of this year. It worked for about one week and stopped blowing cold air after that. from Amazon.com No big deal. Noise level is acceptable. It's a Air Conditioner after all, it's going to make noise.
