This causes the pan at the base to fill up fairly quickly and the front-end fan then circulates through the formed puddle of water, easy doubling the noise. Other Thoughts: Haier have only been around for 10 years (according to their website) and their low-end manual-controlled air conditioners are so poorly engineered I have to wonder why they bothered to make them at all. After this experience I'm steering clear of ANY product they manufacture. from Newegg.com A little inspection showed that the problem was that the collection tray for condensation water had no visible drain holes on the bottom to let water out, and the ones on the side of the tray were clearly above the lowest point of the condenser fan. (this means the fan is spinning in the water) Other Thoughts: Didn't purchase form newegg.com, but wanted to give people a heads up. Started with the water noise after about a month or so, emailed Haier for assistance and got nothing.
