After emailing the company twice and getting no response, I called them. First time, their computers were down, and I was told I'd get a call back in 48 hours. One week later I called again and spoke to someone who gave me two numbers for Haier service dealers in my area. Neither of them service Haier window units. from Amazon.com Great little unit! Quiet for a window unit and cools a 700sqf area in the Houston, August heat! from Amazon.com I attempted for 2 days to get the measurement between the front of the machine and the beginning of the air vents on the side of the 8000 BTU machine to determine if I could use it in the in-wall space available to me. If it didn't fit I was going to buy 2 smaller 6000 BTU units. from Amazon.com I bought this unit a little over a year ago. Worked great last summer, but this year it stopped producing cold air, and the coils freeze over. Of course, the warranty on parts and labor ran out 2 weeks after the problems started, but there is a 5 year warranty on the "sealed system", which I suspect is the culprit in this case. from Amazon.com To the other reviewer...
