I wish it had a thermostat, but overall this is a good air and heating conditioner for the money. It arrived in a timely fashion and does what it needs to to cool and heat the room. from Ajmadison.com We purchased this unit to cool a 400 sq ft area, which a 12,000 BTU air conditioner should be able to handle according to industry standards. It looked perfect on paper, but unfortunately, the experience left a lot to be desired! from Target.com As a previous poster noted, Amana does not acknowledge the existence of these rebadged Haier units on its site. Unfortunately, Haier also does not seem to acknowledge them, making support put-near impossible. from Amazon.com The remote control is required. If the dog chews the remote, you will be up the creek without a paddle. (Actually, they do give you an extra remote, but after that you are on your own.)
