Intalled the unit and ran the product for 30 minutes. It then started dripping water out the back lie it was supposed to but it also leaked a small but steady streanm of water out the front even though we installed it with a 6 degree tilt backwards. Called Haier and they said they had no one in my area that could service unit. The lady said she would forward my problem to the service Department and they would call me back when they found a reapair person. from Walmart.com We installed the a/c into the window, turned it on, and the compressor is broken. :-( What's worse is that we have been unable to get anywhere with Haier's service people. Their call center is performing very poorly so far. from Walmart.com The outside temp today was 86 f but the house cooled to to 66 f in 2 hrs. I am extremly satisfied. Haier could give more attention to fit and finish. (cosmetic) Unit cools well, runs very quiet, but explanation of timer function is confusing. from Walmart.com DO not buy a Haier. The knob on top which turns the air conditioner "on" or "off" breaks/cracks! from Amazon.com It was supposed to have 3 fan speeds and it came out of the box with only 2. It is a glorified fan - does not cool past 81 degrees. The company does not back their product and told me that they are packed in China and that Haier is not responsible for what happens in China. The unit has is all. from Circuitcity.com We have slider windows and I thought we might be out of luck when it came to finding an a/c unit that would fit but I was surprised to find a handful of choices. We probably could have gotten by with a 5,000 BTU unit but they seemed to be hard to find elsewhere on the Web. This Haier is a bit larger than I would like, though I was able to lift it by myself. We ended up hiring a handyman to install it, as our window sill didn't totally provide the best base for the unit, and we also needed to have a piece of wood cut to prevent the mounting bracket from damaging our vinyl siding. from Walmart.com this product seems to work well,my only problems were not enough "a" screws and the mounting plate works but needs some redesign to work on my casement windows.i strongly suggest you have help when from Walmart.com
