just bought it yesterday evening and my guest house has no ventalation .and the air cooler is a teriffic way to go due to the fact that all my windows are of odd size and shapes, so to put in a ac
youre better off with a window ac unit.
i live in a 2 bedroom apartment but only one room has a/c.
she wrote to me "i thought it was going to be just like a ceiling fan type thing, where it just blew the warm air around, but nope-this thing blows out ice cold air-just like the air conditioner of a
pros: i live in seattle wa on the top floor in a apt building downtown.this sucker works fantastic cooled my apt down almost immediatly.my dogs love laying by it.
it works great since we have no ac and cannot put window units in our house.
i would of been better off purchasing window fans.
i had to bring about 4 fans from all over my apartment into my room, open my window and everything just to cool my room down.
last year i had new windows installed.
i am going to try spend the extra 100 buck and get at proper portable ac unit as i cant have window ac units!!!
it is quiet than average window ac unit on high.
we use it during the summers to cool our large master bedroom which is very poorly insulated and has a huge window that faces west.
feet apartment.
i'll have to purchase an additional ac unit (window mounted), but this thing does in fact cool.
consider that this unit, while mobile, sacrifices a good window seal.
the foam window kit is plenty good and does the job as intended.
i have tall apartment windows and the exhaust hose bracket was tall enough to cover the whole opening.
strengths: power 3 spd blower, digital features, ease of mobility, cinch to install, nice & cool air weaknesses: on hi spd, it can get loud but to me, is alot less loud then my old window a/c on
weaknesses: it takes a lot of space near your window.
weaknesses: pricey compared to window units.
my 5000 btu lowe's window ac blows this thing away.
however, my old window ac worked better, although the old one had a lower energy efficiency rating, a lower btu rating, and the same wattage rating.
pros: lots of cold air, looks nice, takes only minimal window space.
i purchased this portable because my living room is facing west and no window.
pros: great price, good a/c power, nice remote control, effective window kit, continuous drainage valve.
wa-9020e has good value with good cooling performance, even though it's not as quiet as the window air conditioners.
i just got the window kit installed and fired it up about five minutes ago.
if you're looking for an air conditioner you can unhook and wheel away on days you want to leave your windows open, this is a decent model, but i would expect a greater efficiency or lower price tag
the timer option is very useful though, you can set it to delay start-up for up to 12 hours so you can save energy during the day and still return to a cool room/apartment at the end of the day.
i bought one of these a month ago and it has been nothing but horrible...i would not recommend buying...get a standard window a/c sheaper and works a lot better...
window kit could be better but it works.
comments: i bought this unit to replace a 7800 btu window unit i used to cool a small server room.
i have to have the unit up on a counter so i can vent it out a window and allow for the water to drain.
cons: foam window install kit.
the square footage of the top floor of our apartment is approximately 500 square feet.
i live in an apartment in northern mn, less than a mile from lake superior.
unlike a previous rater, i have no problems with the window seal (i even have extra length of the "foam" that they include).
pros: low energy cost, moderate power, portable cons: stupid window kit, noisy the bottom line: i'd reccomend it if you have the time to modify the window kit to make the system run at top
cons: stupid window kit, noisy
1) the exhaust pipe going from the machine to the window is not insulated, so it actually becomes very very hot when the machine is operating at full bore.
i have 180 sqft studio apt, but the inside temp is the same as outside.
the window kit is black foam, so it looks ugly if installed in front window of the house.
