i purchased this unit to cool the upstairs bedroom/loft of my apartment, so that i can sleep at night.

about ten years ago i got a window unit for my bedroom for those four or five days each year when it gets hot.

-it does make some noise (no more than a normal window air conditioner would).

it is bulky since it needs to vent out the window of course.

i don't have to put it in the window so i am happy.

this unit has been a life saver as i live in a very old home with no central air and only one bedroom window that i hated to block out the light with a regular window unit.

pros: no huge window unit to install, cools nicely, attractive unit, remote control, timer cons: loud, bad manual, air only blows left/right, horizontal vent doesn't move, air blows too hard

we are in upstate ny and our apartment was built with no ac so on 80-90 degree days i was toasty.
