i was excited to try out this air conditioner and get rid of the bulky, heavy window unit in my bedroom.
pros: no huge window unit to install, cools nicely, attractive unit, remote control, timer cons: loud, bad manual, air only blows left/right, horizontal vent doesn't move, air blows too hard
we are in upstate ny and our apartment was built with no ac so on 80-90 degree days i was toasty.
pros: no huge window unit to install, cools nicely, attractive unit, remote control, timer
window unit could be better.
i was having too many problems with the central air of my apartment, so i bought this one to keep me cool in my bedroom.
did a lot of research and thought this product would work, but unless you live in a 100 square foot box with no windows or doors, keep looking.
bought to boost cooling in my 10x14 home office -- one computer, shaded windows, 2nd floor of a well-insulated townhome -- and to my surprise it can't do the job.the mfg claims up to 400 sq ft
i have had better luck opening all the windows and using the ceiling fan and a window fan.
this came with no foam for window as it said.
ac does not cool as efficiently as window unit.
the slat that they give you does not fit into the window properly, i have places where the air comes in.
the hot exhaust and the thin exhaust tubing is probably heating the room as it cools poor design, getting a window unit next time and punching a hole in the wall for it.
i could not get the window accesories to work on my universal window for hose.
it does the trick for me, since i have very small windows in my house and was not able to use a traditional air conditioner.
the best part is--you can take the outtake tube out of the window on cooler days to let in fresh air.
it is a little noisy as some of the reviews have said but i dont think its that much worse than a window unit.
i have a small basement studio and it does cool it down effectively.
foot studio.
i'd recomment this unit for dorm rooms, studio apartments, or single rooms/ areas,.the fact this unit is also a heater makes it truly a value.
but you should take in consideration these units are more expensive and slightly harder to operate than window-mounted a/cs.
the vinyl window kits did not fit my narrow windows, and they quickly sent me the foam ones for free.
it weighed a gazillion tons, was impossible to install, and blocked my window view.
as with any air conditioner, the hot air must vent so the window connection was simple and i can easily move it from room to room since all windows are same size.
-it does make some noise (no more than a normal window air conditioner would).
it is bulky since it needs to vent out the window of course.
i don't have to put it in the window so i am happy.
this unit has been a life saver as i live in a very old home with no central air and only one bedroom window that i hated to block out the light with a regular window unit.
i had been looking for a portable air conditioner for quite some time do to the fact that window air conditioners are so tacky and noisy for my neighbore so i was on the hunt looking for a portable
when i moved into my apartment i found out after signing the lease that we're not allowed to have your traditional window a/c units which i was very upset about.
people always say it doesnt work but i think that if you have the a/c connected to the window perfectly it helps alot...
no window needed.
what i didn't care for is that even though it seems cleverly designed to neatly tuck into the corner of a room, there is this giant dryer vent pipe that sticks straight out the back - pushing it
the best suggestion is to leave it in a shower and vent it out a bathroom window.
i figured i was stuck with a window unit, which i did not like do to the fact it is an eye sore, plus we only have one window in the frog and it really cut down on the natural light.
someone said in a review that it wouldn't cool as well as a window unit!
this unit definitely fulfills my needs: it cools down my entire apartment (750 sq.ft.
make sure you have a pretty open spot in front of your window.
i purchased this unit to cool the upstairs bedroom/loft of my apartment, so that i can sleep at night.
about ten years ago i got a window unit for my bedroom for those four or five days each year when it gets hot.
