because the base unit two way radios "voice activation feature" does not work with the headset package that it comes with and they knew it before they packaged it and sent it out. from Amazon.com mine also arrived with a bad power adapter that would turn on/off and not charge the units. from Amazon.com The characters on the display are so tiny you need a magnifying glass to read them. I bought my daughter and son-inlaw to be a set of two way radios with voice activation so that they could enjoy their bike rides together safely and with constant communication with the voice activated feature advertised with these two way radios. from Amazon.com
